Summer Writing Salon 2025

Sunday 16 February 2025
10.30am - 3pm
The Writing Place
21 McKenzie Ave, Arkles Bay, Whangaparaoa, Auckland
$45

The New Year is an ideal time to jump-start your writing for 2025 with a summer writing day at my Writing Place in Arkles Bay, Whangaparaoa.
Join me and other writers for a relaxing and creative day of writing exercises, engaging craft discussions, and enjoyable conversations to ignite and energise your imagination.

Spaces are limited and fill up quickly, so reserve your place for my annual writing day now.

Welcome to the Writing Salon ...

The day begins with coffee, tea and warm-up exercises to get the creative wheels in motion. We'll then have some discussions and write to specific prompts that highlight aspects of our craft.

After a lunch break (please bring your lunch), you'll have time to write on your own and have a 15-minute individual coaching session with me before we meet up again for some more group writing.

There will be time during the day to share your work with the group. This is entirely optional - there's no pressure to present to the group unless you'd like to.

... and it's still just $45 for the day ...

No price  increase for the Summer Salon ...
It's been a tough year all round and, as a working writer, I know all too well how hard it is.
The Salon was $45 in 2024 and it'll remain $45 in 2025, and booking and paying is easy in my Shop. Book and pay here and I'll see you in 2025!

Here's what we'll do:

  • we'll complete timed writing exercises

  • you'll have time to work on your own projects

  • it'll be a small group, no more than eight writers

  • we'll have supportive conversations about writing roadblocks, writing process and more

  • you'll get a 15 minute coaching session with me

  • you'll enjoy great views of the Hauraki Gulf in a relaxed, quiet, creative environment

           You'll leave with:

  • a renewed sense of purpose with your writing

  • fresh ideas and inspiration

  • practical tips and tools for overcoming common roadblocks

  • good progress on your current project or

  • the beginnings of a new project and a sense of accomplishment

  • some new connections with other writers

          What to bring:

  • your writing projects and ideas or problems

  • your writing materials (paper and pen, laptop etc)
